RECRUITMENT IN THE DIST JUDICIARY
As on 01.01.2019 the sanctioned cadre strength of all levels of Judicial Officers was 574. The working strength
was 551. There were 27 vacancies of all cadres when united Andhra Pradesh was divided.

1. Direct Recruitment under 25% quota
Six (6) number of posts at the cadre of District Judge were notified in the year 2019. However, only four (4)
candidates were selected and two(2) posts remained unfilled.

For the year 2020 and 2021, three(3) and one(1) post were notified respectively but they remained unfilled as
no candidate qualified in the written examination.
So far as the year 2022 is concerned, seven(7) posts are notified and the written examination is scheduled to
be conducted on 03.12.2022 and 04.12.2022.

Accelerated Recruitment by Transfer under 10% quota

No candidate qualified under accelerated recruitment by transfer under 10% quota from 2019 to 2021. For the
year 2022, two (2) posts are notified the and the recruitment process is under way and the examinations are
scheduled to be conducted on 03.12.2022 and 04.12.2022.

Recruitment under 65% quota
Under 65% quota Twenty one(21) vacancies were notified for the year 2019 and they were filled up by 12.09.2019.

For the year 2020, Twenty six (26) vacancies were notified under 65% quota and they were filled up by 23.09.2021.
For the year 2021, five (5) vacancies were notified under 65% quota and they were filled up by 08.04.2022.
So far as the year 2022 is concerned, sixteen(16) posts were notified under 65% quota and they were filled up
by 17.09.2022.

2) Recruitment of Civil Judge (Senior Division) from 01.01.2019
So far as Senior Civil Judges are concerned, eight (8) vacancies were notified for the year 2019, thirty one (31)
vacancies were notified for the year 2020, and Nine(9) vacancies were notified for the year 2021 and all of them
were filled up by promotion from the cadre of Civil Judge (Junior Division).

So far as the year 2022 concerned, eighteen (18) vacancies are notified and eligible officers are empanelled.

3) Recruitment of Civil Judge (Junior Division) from 01.01.2019
For the year 2019, Thirty Eight (38) posts were notified on 17.06.2019 and after the recruitment process was
concluded and only five(5) candidates were selected under Direct Recruitment. Thirty six (36) posts remained
unfilled.
In the year 2020, Sixty eight (68) posts were notified and fifty two(52) candidates were appointed. Six (6) posts
remained unfilled.

So far as the year 2021 concerned, twenty two(22) posts are notified and all twenty two(22) posts were filled up.
When it comes to 2022, thirty one (31) posts are notified and the recruitment process is under way.
