CASE INFORMATION SYSTEM IN THE HIGH COURT:
Originally, computerization in the Common High Court was started with UNIX Operating System with FOXBASE
database in the year 1992. In the year 2004, the NIC team attached to the High Court developed LOBIS
software on Oracle database with D2K front end for generating the cause-list. Later, several programmes were
developed in order to suit the requirements of the High Court on the said LOBIS software.
In the year 2016, the Hon’ble eCommittee, Supreme Court of India directed all the High Courts to implement
HC CIS 1.0 Common High Court software developed by NIC team, Pune in coordination with the Hon’ble
eCommittee. The core software was provided by them and the High Court was asked to develop peripheral
modules to suit the requirements of the High Court and for generating reports from the CIS software. Certain
peripheral modules were developed by the NIC team and CPC developers Team in the Common High Court.
The process of migration of Case Information Data from the Oracle database to POSTGRESQL platform was
completed in the year 2017 in the Common High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad.
The following peripheral modules were developed to the core CIS 1.0:
1. SMSs and e-mails to the Advocates with regard to posting of cases.
2. Software relating to display boards in front of the court halls.
3. Customized cause-list generation.

DIGITIZATION AND SCANNING OF JUDICIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE RECORDS
The process of digitization and scanning of Judicial and Administrative records was commenced in the
Common High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad. The vendor was M/s StockHolding Document Management
Services, Mumbai. The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has to start the scanning and digitization in the High
Court of Andhra Pradesh to digitize the records from 01.01.2019. Steps are being taken for digitization and
scanning of Judicial and Administrative records from 01.01.2019.
